BISP Payment Increased
Benazir Income Support Program has announced a significant increase in BISP payments for FY 2024. After the increase, now the beneficiaries of the Kafalat program will be able to receive financial assistance up to Rs10500. This increase has been done keeping in mind the rising inflation in the country so that people who are unable to meet their basic needs can be given maximum financial support.

Eligibility Check Procedure
An online portal has also been introduced by the Benazir Income Support Program for determining eligibility and easy access to information. Those who have completed the registration or those who wish to complete the registration can go to this portal and enter their ID card number to determine their eligibility. In case there is no record on the portal, a member of the family will go to the registration desk established in the BISP tehsil office along with their original identity card and complete the survey process. After which, if the family meets the eligibility criteria, it will be included in the program, and financial assistance will be provided on a quarterly basis.
Further, the SMS facility is also available for those who cannot or do not know how to use the web portal to determine eligibility. Those who want to check their eligibility using this facility need to SMS their ID card number to 8171, after which an instant reply message will confirm their eligibility. Also note that beneficiaries who have provided a Telenor number while completing registration will not receive a reply SMS from 8171.
Eligibility criteria for joining the program
Certain eligibility criteria have been set to be part of the Benazir Income Support Program. Only those families who meet these eligibility criteria will be able to be a part of this program. The following are the details of the eligibility criteria laid down:
- Living below the poverty line: Families living below the poverty line
- Not having a government job: Families in which none of them have a government job and are falling into poverty day by day
- Sole sponsor of the household: Women belonging to deserving families who are suffering from poverty due to a lack of sources of income and are the sole breadwinners of their household.
- Widows: Women whose husbands have died and who are widows.
- Women with disabilities: Women who suffer from any disability.
- Pakistani Identity Card (CNIC): Persons having a Pakistani identity card issued by NADRA.
- Not participating in any other government assistance program: Individuals who are not part of any other government assistance program and have never received financial assistance from any other program.

- Birth certificates of children
- Bank account details
- Electricity and gas bills
- Phone number
- Passport size photographs
- Rent certificate (if residing in rented house)

Procedure for Registration to Receive BISP Payments
Now let’s talk about people who want to get financial assistance by joining the Benazir Income Support Program, but there is no record of them after checking their eligibility, so what should they do in this case.? In this case, such people do not need to suffer any kind of problem. I will tell such people here about the procedure to complete the registration. By following this, such persons will be able to easily complete their registration process and become a part of the program.
If such persons do not have any record on the web portal and fulfill the above-mentioned eligibility criteria, then they should first visit their nearest BISP tehsil office. After going to the office, you have to get a token to complete the survey from the registration desk. After getting the token, has to go to the survey registration room according to the token number. Where the representative present will complete their survey registration process. And will take their fingerprints for verification. After which, the registration process for such persons will be completed.
After the registration process is completed, such persons will be thoroughly checked by BISP. Periodic verification If BISP finds such persons meeting the eligibility criteria, they will be made part of the program. And after becoming a part of the program, financial assistance will be provided on a monthly basis.
