Eligibility Criteria for Roshan Gharana
As you guys know, recently the government of Punjab started the Roshan Gharana program to provide solar systems to 50 thousand households in Punjab. The main objective of this is to reduce the shortage of electricity and promote environmentally friendly energy sources. Under this program, in the first phase, 50,000 households will be provided with solar systems by the Punjab government so that they can meet their electricity needs and get rid of expensive electricity bills. To ensure fair distribution and efficient utilization, the Punjab Government has set certain eligibility criteria to be a part of this program, the details of which are as follows:.
- The applicant must belong to Punjab.
- The applicant must have a Pakistani identity card issued by NADRA.
- The applicant should not be a debtor to any bank.
- The applicant should never have traveled abroad.
- The monthly income of the applicant must be less than Rs 60,000.
- The applicant should not be an employee of any government agency.
- The applicant family should not already have a solar system.
- The applicant’s family must be enrolled in the NSER survey.
- The applicant must have a legally functional electricity connection.
Documents Required for Solar Scheme
Applicants desirous of getting a solar system have to provide the following documents during registration:
- Identification card (CNIC)
- The last six months of electricity bills
- Proof of monthly income
- NSER survey slips
- Permission from the owner for the installation of a solar system in the case of a residence in a rented house
Registration Procedure for Roshan Gharana Program
Families wishing to complete their registration in the Roshan Gharana Program can complete their registration by following the steps below.
- First, visit your nearest Bank of Punjab branch.
- After going to the bank, get the Roshan Gharana registration form from the concerned representative present there.
- Enter all relevant information in the registration form.
- After entering all the information, attach copies of all the necessary documents along with the registration form.
- After entering all the necessary information in the registration form and attaching all the required documents, submit it back to the concerned representative.

Eligibility Check and Online Registration via 8800 Code
A special code has been introduced for online registration and eligibility checks in the Roshan Gharana program by the Government of Punjab. Following is the procedure to check eligibility and complete online registration using this code.
- Write your ID card number from the mobile number registered in your name and send an SMS to 8800.
- If you have completed the offline registration, you will see your eligibility information in the reply SMS.
- If you have not completed your registration, you will be provided with an online registration form link in the reply SMS.
- Click on the online registration form link received in the reply SMS and complete your online registration by providing all your required information and necessary documents.
- Await approval post-application.
Installation Process
50,000 lucky households that meet the eligibility criteria in Roshan Gharana will be notified via SMS if they are eligible. And after that, there will be the process of installing solar systems, which will be done by the Punjab Government and will be absolutely free.
